Course Description:
If you need to learn how to administer the Oracle
Database, this is the class to take! The student will
learn the basic skills required of the Oracle Database
Administrator (DBA). Taught by the author of several
highly acclaimed Oracle Press books, this is no fluff
class! In this five day class the student will be
immersed into the Oracle Database with classroom
discussion and numerous lab exercises. When the class
is completed the student will be well prepared to
perform the duties of an Oracle DBA and will be
prepared for advanced learning on more complex Oracle
topics.
Learning Objectives:
1. Install the Oracle Database RDBMS software
2. Understand the Oracle architecture
3. Configure and create an Oracle database.
4. Understand how to manage the Oracle Database
5. Configure and create Oracle users and schemas.
6. Create Oracle schema objects (tables, indexes, etc)
7. Understand and use Integrity constraints
8. Understand and implement basic Oracle security
9. Understand and implement basic Oracle networking
10. Configure and use Oracle Enterprise Manager
Pre-requisites:
1. Basic understanding of SQL
2. Use of SQL*Plus
