Day 1: What is Workflow?
- Demonstration of a sample Workflow process and introduction to Workflow concepts such as Notifications and the Workflow Monitor, to give students an idea of what a Workflow process looks like to an end user as well as to an administrator.
- Introduction to Oracle Workflow, including demonstration of a Workflow process and introduction to Workflow components, including the Workflow Monitor and Notifications. Build and test a simple Workflow process.
- Introduction to the Workflow Builder tool, including an overview of Workflow terminology (the names of objects as used in the Workflow Builder), and a demonstration of how to utilize the Workflow Builder tool to make a simple modification to the sample Workflow process, and test it.
- Terminology: Item types, Process Activities, Notification Activities, Item Attributes, Message Attributes, Performer
- Test the process and review status in the monitor.
Day 2: Building a Workflow Process
Building a Workflow process from scratch
- How to build a simple Workflow process from scratch, referencing terminology again.
- Demonstrate how to build and test the process.
Viewing and responding to Notifications
- Reassigning Notifications / asking for additional information
- Automatic Notification
- Processing
- Defining Notification Processing Rules
Monitoring Workflow Processes
Modifying your simple Workflow Process
- Adding additional item attributes and modifying the process definition
- Adding Timeouts to Notification Activities
Utilizing the Background Engine to process timeouts

- Utilizing function activities
